Kingdom Gardening

I found a new friend and this recently installed mural at the end of River Plaza as I was taking a walk and soaking up the sun. Look at the long path, the faithful sowing of seeds, the beauty, fruitfulness... all with the city skyline in the background. I pray our church will be faithful gardeners in this city we live in.

Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon. The LORD will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. Some of you will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities. Then you will be known as a rebuilder of walls and a restorer of homes. Isaiah 58:10-12

I don't know about you, but verse 12 grabs my attention + imagination. Some of you will rebuild deserted ruins of your cities. Then you will be known as a rebuilder of walls and a restorer of homes.

LORD, we make ourselves available for your great search and rescue mission to seek and save what's been lost. Show us how you are at work rebuilding what's been deserted and ruined. How you are restoring wellness and bringing people home again. Let us see the needs and where you are working and calling us to join you.
