I'm back from my trip to Cochabamba, Bolivia, and happy to report it was a fantastic trip! Special thanks to the Hull Vineyard team from the UK (Kath & Al) and Bill Maxam from Cincinnati Vineyard for their contributions to the teaching, prayer, and support at the conference. It was a fun multinational Vineyard family gathering.
A big thank you goes out to Kimber for all her behind-the-scenes logistical, communications, and admin work to make it happen!
At the end of the conference, the Bolivians expressed lots of gratitude for the opportunity to experience God through the various exercises, messages, and Bible studies. They were receptive to embracing Kingdom theology and practice, though they still have much to learn.
As a bonus, although I had to travel home with wet clothes in my suitcase, I also had the opportunity to help with a baptism. New people continue to come to know Jesus there, and it's encouraging to see.
The church in Cochabamba is bearing fruit: not only are people coming to Christ, but new potential leaders are slowly emerging, such as a local business owner named Nora. She has been saving up her own money to attend the South American Vineyard conference in Brazil this June.
A couple of church planters, friends of Esther who are interested in the Vineyard, joined us and had a great time. Their names are Santiago and RoseMary, and I am curious to see if their interest in being part of the Vineyard persists.
I am encouraged by the faithfulness and resilience Esther has shown in the wake of Remberto's illness. It's been really hard for her, and she's exhausted. Pray for strength and perseverance.
Pray also for Remberto, who is undergoing cancer treatment and is really in a lot of pain, not sleeping well, and has been immobilized for several months. It was tough to see him like that, but I was thankful for the chance we had to be with him.
Also, pray for a gifted and God-fearing worship leader for the church in Cochabamba, one of their biggest weekly ministry needs.
