This spring, our Des Moines Vineyard Church will be holding an online auction. If you haven’t heard of an online auction before, join the club! But as you can imagine, instead of a handful of people sitting in a room for hours and hours, raising paddles as items are shown one by one by one; hundreds even thousands of people can take part in this ONLINE auction from the comfort of their living room!
It runs just like an in-person auction but takes place on a website for 7-10 days. You can bid on items at your convenience AND share the auction website with your friends and family so they can bid as well. The money raised by the auction will go toward our facility debt and the landlords will match that amount.
For this fundraiser, we are partnering with a local auctioneer, Darlye Jager, who owns Jager Auction. Please feel free to take a look at his website and click on the “View Our Auctions Now!” tab to become more familiar with how online auctions work. This tab will take you to their auctions on the popular “Hi Bid” online auction website. We look forward to working with Darlye and his team.
Ok, what do I need to do now? Start collecting items…. Please watch the following video to learn more about how to collect items for the auction: auction video
As the video says, there are three ways to donate to the auction:
If you items in mind that you would like to see on the online auction, please add your items to our anonymous Online Auction Wish List. This list is being assembled to encourage others to look through it and spur on ideas that they may be able to donate. View Wish List doc here.
Please bring all donations to the Des Moines Vineyard Church by March 19, 2023. Your donations can be dropped off in the “Prayer Room” which is the first room on the left in the main hallway. This room will be unlocked during drop off times before church on Sunday mornings and during other church events. We will safely store all donations at the church until the pick up day that will be advertised on the auction website. If you have large items such as furniture to donate, please consider bringing it to the church closer to March 19th since storage space is limited.
Jager Auctions will come and take pictures and write descriptions of the items. If there is any information you want included in the description, please include that with your item. Jager Auctions will then run the online auction sometime in April. The exact dates of the online auction will be set by Jager Auctions and will be communicated to everyone in the near future!
We encourage everyone to find a way to be part of the online auction. This fundraiser will enable us to continue sharing the good news and be a place to invite friends and family to know Jesus.
