Our church recently joined the Bolivia Partnership in April of this year. What that means is that we’ve joined a handful of Vineyard churches from the United States (and possibly a church from the UK) to support the planting and growing of Vineyard churches in Bolivia.
Three primary ways we support is by sending down teams to lead training, giving financially to make that training possible, and praying. After a Zoom meeting with the Bolivia Partnership churches last week, here are some ways that we can be praying:
Leadership training this month:
- At the end of June a team from Hull Vineyard in the UK as well as some leaders from the US will head to Cochabamba, Bolivia to offer a leadership training for pastors and key leaders from the Vineyard churches in Bolivia
- Pray this training would be effective in helping the churches raise up and release leaders
Vineyard Churches in Bolivia
- All the Vineyard Churches in Bolivia have been working for several years to get what would be our equivalent of 501(c)(3) status. They have all of their paperwork in order and are essentially just waiting on the stamp of approval, but these processes often take a long time in Bolivia. It looks like there will be a new law going into effect in November of this year that would prevent any new denominations from being recognized. PLEASE PRAY that their paperwork would be approved before that date so that the Vineyard can be recognized as an official denomination in Bolivia.
- Vineyard Church in Cochabamba: pray that they would be able to grow and release leaders
- Vineyard Church in Santa Cruz: pray that they would be able to find a new meeting place (rent and real estate throughout the country are high right now)
- Vineyard Churches in La Paz: one of the churches in La Paz is sending a group of women to the leadership conference - pray that God would be equipping them to come back and lead in their church. The other church in La Paz has recently seen a lot of growth (13 baptisms this spring, moving into a bigger space, and adult services and classes taking off in addition to their work with kids). Praise God for this growth and ask for more!
The country of Bolivia
- Pray for the economic situation in Bolivia. There are low reserves of US dollars which affects all other areas of the economy. Prices on certain items have spiked and there are gasoline and diesel shortages which further affect shipments and imports.
- There will be elections in 2025 - pray that God will raise up effective leaders that are filled with wisdom
Ephesian 3:20-21 (TPT)
“Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you. Now we offer up to God all the glorious praise that rises from every church in every generation through Jesus Christ–and all that will yet be manifest through time and eternity. Amen!”
