On Sunday, our message was on HOPE. Kara read from Luke 1 and told the account of Zechariah, Elizabeth, and Mary and their various responses to God’s promises being fulfilled in their lives.
Kara noted that as Zechariah struggled to believe, maybe he needed Elizabeth to carry hope for him because that’s what we do as a community of faith for each other.
It brought to mind this passage in Hebrews 10:23-25. Notice the call to life together in the two small words repeated three times… let us.
Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.
Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.
And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
It’s so easy to get swept into ourselves. And when we do, we miss out on the hope, motivation, and encouragement we offer to one another.
This goes beyond borders - as you’ll see in this video update - fruit of our prayers and financial support for the Vineyard churches in Ukraine this year.
Let us not neglect our role in each other’s lives and continue to gather - encourage - hold tight to hope - and motivate one another in the love and good works God has for us in mission.

I love the phrase in that verse to "think of ways to motivate each other." That's pretty convicting... to put in some effort, to be intentional, and to think of how to help and encourage others. That's my take-away for today. Thank you! Kara
